The Faculty of Psychology of Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (UNJANI) was officially established based on the Decree of the Rector of UNJANI Number: Skep/057/UNJANI/V/2003, dated May 14, 2003, which was confirmed based on the Letter of the Director General of Higher Education of the Directorate General of Higher Education Number: 190/D/T/2003, dated January 30, 2003, regarding the Permit for the Implementation of Psychology Study Program at the Undergraduate Level (S1), and the Letter of the Director General of Higher Education of the Directorate General of Higher Education Number: 3362/D/T/2005, dated October 12, 2005, regarding the Extension of Permit for the Implementation of Psychology Study Program at Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (UNJANI). The Faculty of Psychology of Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (UNJANI) was established in order to respond to the challenges and expectations of the TNI-AD leadership, as the Trustees of the Kartika Eka Paksi Foundation, that in order to fill the personnel in the TNI-AD, the role and function of psychology is very large, especially in filling the needs of personnel in the TNI-AD, government agencies, private sector and society. This is of course in line with the purpose of the establishment of UNJANI by YKEP, so it is undeniable that the presence of the Faculty of Psychology at UNJANI also gives hope for the realization of the Foundation's aspirations.
Faculty of Psychology of Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (UNJANI) is the sixth faculty in UNJANI. As an educational institution under the Kartika Eka Paksi Foundation (YKEP), the Faculty of Psychology of UNJANI was established in order to answer the challenges and expectations of the TNI-AD leadership, as the Trustees of YKEP that psychology will play a major role in filling and developing personnel in the TNI-AD, including in government agencies, private sector and society. In addition, the Faculty of Psychology also carries out a noble task in order to fill the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, participate in becoming the “scientific kitchen” of the TNI-AD and give birth to a smart generation for the future of the nation.

Established in 2003 with a specialty in the field of Military Psychology as a flagship, it means that the Faculty of Psychology UNJANI has a specialty in the field of Military Psychology that is not owned by other Faculties of Psychology in Indonesia. This specialty is expected to produce academicians and graduates who are outstanding, able to compete and play an active role in the development of Psychology, especially in the military field.
The development of Psychology with National Spirit means that UNJANI Faculty of Psychology has high discipline and can maintain the dignity of the Indonesian nation. Faculty of Psychology UNJANI also established as an environmentally sound Faculty, which means that the Faculty of Psychology UNJANI contributes to the community in accordance with its field in carrying out the tridharma of higher education, participating in creating and maintaining a clean and healthy environment by responding to environmental problems and changes by actively participating in various environmental, social and disaster problem solving both locally and regionally.
